Local Betchworth based hotel, Hartsfield Manor has recently hosted some very successful Christmas wreath making events in order to raise further funds for George and The Giant Pledge. The hotel group have so far raised in excess of £12,000 with a further £1500 raised from the wreath making evenings. With support from local gardener Renée Carter, AKA ‘The Girl Who Gardens’ and Holborns stores supplying the wreath making materials the event was a truly local affair.
Guests enjoyed minces pies and a glass of fizz in the beautiful manor house with an in-depth tutorial on wreath making by Renée followed by the chance to make their own beautiful wreaths to take home. Some of the materials for the wreaths were gathered from the glorious grounds themselves at Hartsfield Manor.
Vicki Woodall who along with husband James is behind the charity The Giant Pledge and was in attendance at every daytime and evening event on hand to help with adding extra bits to wreaths and selling raffle tickets.
Giles Thomas, Operations Director of The Manor Collection said. “We love supporting The Giant Pledge as they are a local charity and even more so we really do enjoy offering a fundraising event that’s a little bit different. Following on from the success of last year’s wreath making events at the hotel we decided it was definitely worth doing even more this year. We’ve held quiz nights, family fun days and Easter egg hunts for The Giant Pledge and have every intention of continuing to support them”.
